There’s been a wonderful smell in the office this week as the air was filled with the scent of freshly baked cakes. Don’t worry you’re not reading the wrong blog; there’s a good reason for me talking about food instead of bathrooms as yesterday was Victorian Plumbing’s charity bake off!

Raising money for Stick N Step

We’ve recently been fundraising for Stick ‘n’ Step, which is a local charity that works with children with cerebral palsy. One of the ways we decided to do this was to make our own assortment of cakes and then chip in 50p for each one eaten (which turned out to be quite a lot in the end!)

Inspired by popular TV programmes, the idea was for the team to put their culinary skills to the test by hosting a cake baking contest, with everyone’s creations being displayed in the break room while the staff judging panel rated them and then selected the best who would go on to win the coveted title of VP Bake Off Champion 2015.

As you can see from the pictures, the team here is quite a creative bunch and a lot of effort was put into their cakes (I can assure you they tasted as good as they looked). So far the day has managed to raise a good amount, which will be added to the total of our other fundraising efforts.

Future charity events planned

We’re currently planning a few other charity events in order to raise money for Stick ‘n’ Step, including a fancy dress event later this month and then our Race Night which will be held on 18th April. If you would like to make a donation why not pay a visit to our Just Giving page. Any contributions are greatly appreciated.
