Quality Shower Screen
29th April 2023Just fitted the Mira screen into an on-suite alcove. This is clearly a quality product and far better than the screen fitted by the developer of our house. This is only the second shower screen I have fitted so relatively new to this although competent at DIY. For those in a similar position to me (not relevant to the experts) my comments are as follows. The thicker glass does make the screen quite heavy but my wife and I managed it upstairs OK. The instructions are written on the basis the shower is being fitted with a side which initially made me think I’d bought the wrong screen. But it is also intended for alcoves. I had to place the screen in position with the side supports in place ie I had to use the screw access holes to screw the frame to the walls. This means getting a screw through the frame void and connect to the pre-prepared hole in the wall. I struggled with masking tape holding the screw to the driver and it was really difficult. It wasn’t till I’d finished that my wife asked me what ‘the little tube is for’. The penny dropped - that gets the screw through the void. No mention of this in the instructions! So, great shower screen, but don’t loose the little tube!1

Good quality shower door at a reasonable price
14th March 2023Easy fix for two people, could be tricky for just one. Getting the metal seal strips to locate was a bit fiddly. The internal knob is too small to get an adequate grip to open the door from the inside, especially with wet hands and would be impossible for children. Problem solved by putting the grab handle on the inside but spoils the look of the door. Apart from those few niggles, the door is well made, looks good and is smooth in operation.
