How do demister mirrors work?

A demister bathroom mirror works by applying a small amount of heat to the surface of the mirror, preventing it from becoming steamed up. As the mirror is then no longer a cold surface, it doesn't attract water vapour and isn't prone to condensation. Many heated bathroom mirrors and demister mirrors have additional functionality, such as utilising LED lighting or containing Bluetooth speakers.

Can you put a demister pad on any mirror?

Demister pads can work on different types of mirrors but it will depend. For example, it depends on how the mirror is mounted - as demister pads are added to the backs of mirrors - and whether it is possible to get power to it.
