This is the second time I bought this panel - the first one was installed badly by cowboy plumbers. But the panel itself was great so I decided to order the same one. I installed this new one myself with a few modifications (yes warranty voided). - because I'm installing it over a tall bath, I had to shorten the height by cutting the top part off with a hacksaw, and then I had to weld the top back together. I also had to change the location of the mounting brackets to suit my existing pipe outlets. - the back of the panel was rough in some areas and ended up scratching my pvc shower panels. This was not the end that I modified - I had deburred and sanded the stainless steel rough edges smooth. The scratches occurred at the factory-finished bottom end of the panel which I did not modify and didn't think to deburr or sand. I should have checked the whole panel was smooth from top to bottom - note that the base of the panel isn't a solid rounded piece. The bottom panel is actually intentionally loose and has a fine edge which you could hurt yourself on if you aren't careful. It's not sharp, but it's not rounded and smooth like the rest of the panel. It lifts up slightly and there is a gap. it has never been a problem, but I think it should be continuous rather than separate and loose. - the body jets have unequal pressure - the top jet is high pressure and the bottom jets are low pressure, but I find little use for them anyway. They're simply an extra feature to me. - hanging the panel was difficult because of the shape of the brackets. The bracket to fix to the wall is narrow - so it is difficult to get level. I would have preferred a wider bracket fixed to the wall. That way you can put a longer level on it and get it perfectly level. If I were to do it again, I would use a small dot of grab adhesive to stick it to the wall and it get it perfectly level, and let it cure overnight. Then drill small pilot holes through the existing screw holes. Then take off the bracket, drill correct size pilot holes, and then put plugs in. This way you know it will be perfectly level, and that would be easier than drilling level holes and then finding out you're slightly off. It seems pedantic but because the bracket is narrow and the tower is tall, even a very slightly uneven bracket results in a noticeable slant when you mount the tower - additionally, the shape of the hanging bracket on the panel itself was not a straight horizontal bar. It has a cut out and you're meant to slot the panel into the bracket that is on the wall. Therefore, there is no wiggle room to slide the panel left or right by a few mm if needed. If your brackets are not dead centre, the panel will not be dead centre. I would have preferred the hanging bracket to be a straight bar to allow this flexibility. Yes it means that the panel won't be rigidly fixed in position, but this wouldn't be a problem because of the shape of the mounting brackets on the wall. The top edge of the wall bracket is slanted forward away from the wall, so as you lower the panel onto the wall bracket, the hanging brackets on the panel wedge themselves in the gap between the bracket and the wall until they hit the flat part of the bracket. As a result, even if there wasn't a cut out, it would be wedged in there so tightly that it wouldn't shift anyway, especially as it settles over time. It would have made installation easier. - From my experience of the old panel, it needs a regular clean and spray down - especially the waterfall shower and the body jets and sprayer. The holes where the water exits can build up with mould and limescale if you don't. Over time they become brittle and can snap off. So maintenance cleaning with cleaning products and a soft brush is necessary eg every couple of weeks. - other than these considerations, the panel is great. Looks nice, good strong flow (fed by 15mm pipes), thermostat works nice, and the flexible pipe for the handheld sprayer is nice and supple.
