How to Clean Black Bathroom Floor Tiles
If you want to clean your black bathroom floor tiles but are worried about damaging the finish, read our expert breakdown on the best cleaning methods for black floor tiles.
It is a common myth that having black floor tiles would help to minimise your bathroom cleaning schedule, however it is quite the opposite. Whether they have a gloss or matte finish, a build-up of dirt would have a drastic effect on the look of your tiles and therefore the overall finish of your bathroom. There is no need to fret however, a deep clean of your tiles should be the remedy you will need and we are here to show you how!
Using a solution of detergent and white vinegar is the miracle you need to help keep your black floor tiles pristine and without any residue. As you follow the below instructions, you will learn how to clean and maintain your floor tiles efficiently, so that they sparkle like they did when you first fell in love with them.
Cleaning Black Floor Tiles
What you will need
- 1L Spray Bottle
- Water
- White Vinegar
- Detergent/Disinfectant
- Lint free cloth
Step 1 – The Spray Bottle
Fill your 1L spray bottle halfway with warm water. Make sure you do not exceed half to allow room for the other ingredients of the solution.
Step 2 – The Vinegar
For half a bottle of water, add in 100ml of white vinegar. When doing this, if your bottle is less than a litre, make sure your vinegar measurements are kept at 1 part for every 5 parts water.
Step 3 – The Detergent
For a litre bottle, add in up to 5 drops of your chosen detergent. Again, if your bottle is smaller, change the amount of drops needed to fit this.
Step 4 – Shake n’ Spray
Once you have added all your ingredients, screw your top and give your bottle a quick shake. Give your black floor tiles a generous spray and let the solution do its thing.
Step 5 – Keep it Lint Free
As the solution sets, grab your lint free cloth/mop and go over the tiles until they reflect their original finish. If needs be, spray your solution on your tiles and repeat the process. Do not settle for anything less than the gleaming finish of brand new tiles.
How to Keep Black Floor Tiles Clean
Now that you have finished your deep clean, consistent maintenance is needed to make your life a lot easier. Once you have performed your deep clean, it may be worth protecting them with a stain preventing sealant. This, along with a weekly mop with warm soapy water will help to reduce the build-up of any limescale, dirt and residue. Try to avoid the use of any harsh chemicals that could contain acids. If used your results may appear worse due to the reactions interfering with the overall finish. We would also recommend staying away from using any hard bristle brush and wire scourers when cleaning your tiles as this could cause further scratches and damage.
Now that you have listened to the experts, take a deep breath and put a smile back on your face, all the hard work has been worth it!
