Beautiful tiles
11th June 2026I used to work at another tile company and learnt a lot about tiling there. I used to steer away from patterned tiles like these as was never enough variation in the pattern direction but I am very impressed with the multiple variations across the 10m2 of tiles I have. There are enough with patterns and enough plain for it to give a 'wow factor' without the over bearing of patterns. I only gave 4 stars on appearance as I tiled my bathroom myself and I am unsure if the tiles are the same batches as sizes seem slightly out (could be the wall though). I have managed to pop these on my wall at 6 months pregnant and is my 4th time tiling a bathroom. So they are easy to install with a wet cutter for awkward cuts and a manual cutter for straight cuts. If I moved, I would buy the tiles again. Delivery was great and none were damaged.

Vintage Moroccan tiles
10th June 2026Appearance just as on internet. In my view, extremely good value for money. The two boxes of tiles arrived with 5 broken tiles (I suspect the handler who ignored the "Fragile" labels all over the packaging.) I rang and received within 48 hours a whole new box (25 tiles). They are now on an outside wall enhancing the new garden that my wife has created. Excellent product, great service.

FAQ's
Thinking of giving your floors an upgrade? Tiles are a real step up, especially in high traffic areas like hallways, kitchens and bathrooms where spills, muddy shoes and daily wear are all part of the deal. Here’s how to pick the right floor tiles, what to keep an eye out for and how to get a finish that feels like you.
Why choose floor tiles?
Carpets hold onto stains and smells. Wood needs careful handling (and still ends up scratched). Vinyl flooring can wear down fast. Floor tiles are water-resistant, easy to clean and built to take on everyday life without losing their good looks. Plus, most of the time, a quick sweep and wipe-down is all they need.
Which type of tiles are best for flooring?
If you want something tough, reliable and low-maintenance, porcelain’s your best bet. It’s dense, durable and moisture-resistant, making it ideal for kitchens, bathrooms and hallways.
Ceramic tiles are a solid choice for lighter-use areas or when you’re working to a budget and still want a stylish result.
If you like the look of natural materials, then choose wood effect or stone effect tiles for floors. These have all the visual appeal without the stress.
Should your floors be lighter or darker than your walls?
It really depends on the look you’re going for:
- Lighter floors can make smaller spaces feel bigger and more open.
- Darker floors bring warmth and richness to larger or naturally bright rooms.
To keep things looking balanced, aim for at least a two-shade difference between floors and walls, as this helps add depth.
Are floor tiles slippery?
They can be but you’ve got options. In bathrooms, go for tiles with an anti-slip rating of R10+, like our non-slip floor tiles, or choose a matt or textured finish. In kitchens, hallways and living spaces, a standard matt tile usually offers enough grip.
Can floor tiles be used with underfloor heating?
Absolutely, tiles are one of the best options for underfloor heating. They spread heat evenly and stay warm for longer. Just make sure you’re using UFH-compatible adhesive and grout, so everything expands and contracts together without any issues.
Why choose Victorian Plumbing for floor tiles?
We make the whole experience easier from the first idea right through to the final clean-up. You can order up to 3 free tile samples, so you can see the colour, finish and texture in your space and lighting. Still deciding? Our tile visualiser lets you upload a photo of your room and preview different floor tiles in place. It’s the fastest way to go from "not sure" to "that’s the one".
Once you’re ready to buy, we keep things simple:
