Great tiles but some arrive cracked

Tiles themselves are great only issue is the delivery method is not great as the tiles always come with some being cracked I ordered 4 times. Also very difficult to find tilers who don't complain about the tile being 1x1 meter :) but once installed looks beautiful and worth it

Initially I ordered samples which arrived within a week and I was very happy with them so I put in the full order online. Communication was great and they arrived within a few days. The delivery driver was brilliant, he kept the boxes of my tiles on his front passenger seat so they didn't get damaged. I was very grateful for this level of care & consideration. It's been a big DIY project for me, doing it all on my own, but I'm extremely pleased with the result and I would highly recommend these tiles and Victorian Plumbing.

What are onyx effect tiles?

Onyx effect tiles are porcelain or ceramic tiles designed to mirror the look of natural onyx. They feature layered veining and high gloss finishes. Available in polished, matt and satin finishes, plus textured reeded and fluted styles for added interest.

Unlike real onyx, they are tougher, more water-resistant and less porous. It’s also easier to match patterns. Plus, and perhaps most importantly, they are far more budget-friendly.

Are they durable?

Yes, onyx effect tiles are built to last, particularly if they are porcelain tiles. They’re scratch and stain-resistant, easy to clean and handle moisture well. Add felt pads under furniture and avoid scouring pads to keep floors looking sharp.

Are they slippery?

Polished tiles can feel slick when wet, which makes them a great choice for walls or dry floors. For floors in showers or wet rooms, pick a matt or slip-rated porcelain (look for R10 or higher).

Do they need sealing?

No, the tile doesn’t. Just seal the grout lines to keep them clean and easy to wipe down.
