What are glazed wall tiles?
These are porcelain or ceramic tiles with a coloured glass coating, fired at high temperatures. The glaze gives them a smooth, reflective finish and vibrant colour. It also makes them easy to clean, offering protection from stains and splashes. They're designed specifically for walls, where finish and detail matter most.
Will all glazed tiles have the same colour and finish?
It depends on the tile. Some glazed ceramic tiles have a fairly consistent colour, while rustic styles can show differences in shade and glaze from tile to tile. If you're choosing a tile for its variation, order a free sample and check the product photos before buying. Once your boxes arrive, lay out a few tiles together in your room's light so you can see how the colours work across the wall.
Can you use glazed wall tiles on floors?
Generally, no. These products are sold as glazed wall tiles. If you're considering that tile for a floor, confirm its stated suitability on the individual product page. For a bathroom floor, check its slip resistance as well; a glossy glazed finish alone cannot tell you whether it has enough grip.
Do glazed tiles need sealing?
The glazed surface generally does not need sealing. Tile grout is a separate material, so check the instructions for the grout you choose, particularly for a shower or splashback. A glazed tile also doesn't replace the waterproofing needed behind tiles in a wet area.
How do I clean glazed wall tiles?
