Look good but don’t stick well
28th August 2026The tiles look great for what they are, I have since found them much cheaper elsewhere but never mind that’s on me for not looking around first They look good, not easy to put on and the edges DO NOT stay stuck down I have to restick edges on the them all over every day, they will do for now as have tidied up the kitchen but long term I don’t think they will last as the edges that lift are soon going to lose stickiness and will look messy so may have to actually tile eventually For the money I expected better quality, a friend got a cheaper set on Amazon which worked fine, had to get these as I wanted the bigger individual tiles and all the others had really small tile size

Are self adhesive tiles actually durable?
Self adhesive tiles can provide a durable, wipe-clean finish when they are fitted correctly and used in a suitable area. They're made from tough vinyl that handles everyday splashes, scuffs and foot traffic. This makes them perfect for kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and utility rooms, as long as the surface you're applying them to is smooth, stable and properly prepared.
Can I use them in bathrooms?
Definitely. They're water-resistant and splash-proof, making them a great fit for bathroom floors and walls. Just steer clear of areas that are constantly wet, like inside a shower enclosure.
Do they work over existing tiles or flooring?
Yes. In fact, this is where self adhesive tiles really shine. You can stick them over ceramic tiles, vinyl, laminate or even painted walls.
Remove any dust and grease before you begin, as these can prevent the adhesive from bonding properly. You should also fill deep grout lines and repair loose or uneven areas so they do not show through the new tiles.
How should I plan patterned self adhesive tiles?
Lay the tiles out before removing their backing so you can check how the pattern meets and decide where your cuts will fall. Open several packs and compare the self adhesive tiles for any differences in colour, size or pattern before fitting them.
Check for a direction marker on the backing and keep the tiles facing the correct way where required. If there is no marker, use the printed design to maintain a consistent direction. Start from a planned reference point rather than simply beginning at one edge of the room, and avoid leaving very narrow cuts around walls or fittings.
If a pattern does not line up or tiles differ noticeably before installation, stop and check the product rather than continuing to fit them.
How do I cut them to fit?
Measure the space carefully, mark the cut on the peel-and-stick tile while the backing is still attached, and then use a sharp craft knife (or scissors) for a clean cut. Dry-fit the cut tile before removing its backing to make sure it fits correctly.
How do I clean them?
Just wipe with warm soapy water or a gentle cleaner; nothing fancy needed. Avoid steam mops on floors though, as they can soften the adhesive.
