What are the benefits of having a washstand bathroom basin

Washstands are beneficial for those who want to incorporate a specific style into their bathroom but may not have the space required for a bathroom vanity. Washstand sinks can be grand in the character they add to a bathroom setting whilst also being minimal in the space they take up.

Washstand basins can be as invasive as you want when it comes to space. Whilst their simple design will ensure that the openness of a bathroom is maintained, the stand itself can be as wide as you like. If you’re limited to bathroom space, a frame that spans no wider than the sink itself would work well. For a room with more space to utilise, some of our washstands that span a metre or over in width could be a great choice.
 

What different styles of washstand are there?

Outside of the aesthetic theme, there are also different structural design styles to choose from when it comes to washstands.

When wanting the traditional washstand feel, an Edwardian style washstand could be the right choice. These often come as a white basin and chrome leg combination. They can come in square, rectangular and even rounded structures.

Washstands also can come in a console design. Console washbasins typically span a metre or more in width, whilst remaining quite narrow in depth. This width provides space either side of your basin for toiletries and bathroom accessories.

Many of the washstands we offer also feature built-in shelving. Our smaller washstands in this style house a single open shelf part way down the stand. Our bigger units even feature drawer or cupboard compartments all in a sleek and compact washstand design.
