Does every concrete basin look exactly the same?

No, and that's part of the appeal. Small differences in colour, texture and surface pattern are normal with concrete and many concrete basins are hand finished, so your basin may not look exactly like the one in the photos. These natural variations give each concrete bathroom sink its character and should not usually be treated as faults.

 

Can my wall support a concrete basin?

Wall hung concrete wash basins can be heavy, and need a solid wall that can support both the basin and the forces placed on it during use. If you're fitting to a stud wall, you may need extra support or suitable fixings. If you choose a countertop model, make sure the worktop or vanity unit can support its weight and provide a stable base.

 

What tap and waste do I need for a concrete basin?

It depends on the basin. Many countertop concrete basins don't have tap holes, so they're best paired with a tall basin mixer or wall mounted basin taps. Also, remember to check whether your basin has a tap hole and overflow before buying. If there’s no overflow, you'll usually need an unslotted waste.

 

Do concrete basins need sealing?

Many of our concrete basins arrive with a treated surface, so you should not need to seal them before use. However, the treatment and care instructions can vary between models. Some basins also come with maintenance wax to help protect the surface over time.

 

Do concrete basins stain easily?

Not if you look after them properly. The treated surface helps protect against water and stains, but it's still best to wipe up spills and residue before they sit for too long. Stick to gentle cleaners too, as anything too harsh or abrasive can mark the finish.

 

Can concrete basins crack or chip?

Concrete basins are made for everyday use, but a heavy impact can still chip or damage the surface. Avoid dropping hard objects into the bowl or dragging accessories across it.
