As the name suggests, a rimless toilet is a toilet without a rim. From the outside, a rimless toilet looks very much like a standard one. Unlike standard toilets, however, they use a direct flush technique that pushes water around the edge of the pan.

This issue is more likely to occur if the toilet is not installed properly, such as if the toilet is not level or if the water level in the cistern is set too high. In addition, a longer flush may increase the chance of splashing. To minimise this, adjusting the water level or flushing with the seat down can help.
