To some people, a shower enclosure is just that; a shower enclosure. For others, the style, shape and size of their shower enclosure matter a great deal. With square shower enclosures, you have a fail-safe option, no matter what type of buyer you are.

 

What is a square shower enclosure?

A square shower enclosure is (yes, you guessed it!) square in shape. Its box-like design makes it especially well-suited for bathroom corners.

There are four types of shower doors you can purchase for square enclosures: bi-fold doors, pivot doors, sliding doors and hinged doors. Bi-fold doors are a hinged option with space-saving functionality. Instead of opening outward, they fold in half, which not only saves space but also looks stylish. Pivot doors work much like hinged doors, except they’re hinged from the top and bottom of the door rather than the side. Sliding shower doors are excellent space-savers since you don’t need to worry about clearance for outward-swinging doors. Hinged shower doors, on the other hand, swing outward and require enough space for a person to enter comfortably, making them more suitable for larger bathrooms.

Square shower enclosures are available in both framed and frameless styles. Frameless shower enclosures look elegant and modern, while framed versions add definition and highlight the enclosure’s features. The choice ultimately comes down to your individual taste.

 

What's in the box?

A square enclosure comes with shower glass, doors, rollers, and the necessary fixings for assembly. Some models include a shower tray, but not all do, so be sure to check each product for what’s included in the pack.

 

What's not?

Many shower enclosures do not come with a tray. For a square enclosure, you’ll need a matching square shower tray. You’ll also need a complete shower, which is not included with the enclosure but is essential for the full shower experience.
