Easy to fit, good value
31st March 2026I bought this to prevent heat loss to an outside wall into a lean-to area and to try to address that a fridge freezer sits on the other side of the radiator wall. I chose this product because it seemed practical and much easier to install than others that required the fuss of pasting materials to the wall behind the radiator. The item was received in good time and was well packaged. I read the instructions fully and was pleased with how simple it was to prepare and assemble the reflector shield. It took around 30 mins total, with reading time and one small error from me (i.e. not folding the sheet over the hanging clips to anchor it) - I was able to retrieve the reflector and quickly correct this. The pack comes with enough kit to do up to 3 or radiators and includes tape strips to join the reflector sheets if extra length is needed. This is good value for the price. I have 2 more radiators to do which are curved/bay radiators - I will do those soon and feel confident that it should go well. This is a practical, portable and excellent value for money product. I definitely recommend and will buy again if/when needed.

Not sure where to start? These common questions will help you when it comes to buying a new radiator.
What should I look for when buying a radiator?
Start by ensuring the radiator provides the right heat output (BTU) for your room. Then consider where it will be installed; horizontal radiators work well under windows, while vertical radiators help when wall space is limited.
If you’re choosing a central heating radiator, you can select between:
- Single panel single convector (Type 11) for a slimmer profile
- Double panel double convector (Type 22) for greater heat output
Finally, check that the radiator is compatible with your heating system, and choose a finish and style that suits your décor. We offer everything from traditional column and cast iron to modern flat panels, horizontal designs in black or anthracite and heated towel radiators for bathrooms. Alongside our range of radiators, you can also browse our selection of smart heating accessories to further increase the energy efficiency of your home.
How does configuration work?
Use our configurator to select height, width, orientation, colour and the number of columns. Your BTU and price update instantly, making it easy to match both style and performance.
What size radiator do I need?
Choosing the right radiator size depends on the heat output required for your room, which is measured in BTUs (British Thermal Units). Factors such as room size, ceiling height, insulation and the number of windows can all affect how much heat you’ll need. You can use our BTU calculator to find the right output for your room. Larger rooms, high ceilings or older properties may benefit from choosing a slightly higher BTU level.
For a quick and easy guide on how to calculate BTU, watch our video below:
This video explains how to measure your room correctly, what factors to consider, and how to use a simple formula to work out the right BTU for your needs.
Are double radiators better than single radiators?
Double panel radiators offer higher heat output, making them ideal for larger rooms or colder spaces. However, a single panel may be more suitable for a compact room. Always match to your BTU requirement, not just size alone.
How long do radiators last?
Most radiators last 15 to 20 years. Upgrading older models can improve efficiency and help maintain consistent warmth, especially in frequently used rooms.
