Comfort Height Toilets

Comfort height toilets are designed to make sitting down and standing up feel easier. They are usually around 6cm taller than a standard toilet, giving you a higher sitting position that can feel more comfortable in everyday use. They are a helpful choice for taller users, seniors, people with reduced mobility or anyone who finds a standard toilet a little too low.

Choose from comfort height toilets in modern and traditional styles, with options for bathrooms, en-suites, cloakrooms and accessibility-focused spaces. The range includes close coupled, back to wall, corner and combined basin-and-toilet designs, so you can pick the format that works best with your layout. Short projection models are also available if you need a raised toilet that takes up less room.

Many comfort height toilets are made from vitreous china for a strong, easy-to-clean finish. Selected models include rimless pans, dual flush systems, soft close seats, slim seat profiles and smart bidet functions. These features can help with cleaning, water use, comfort and day-to-day convenience, while still giving you a toilet that fits neatly into your bathroom.

Great looking, quality toilet

13th June 2026

Warning: WC floor pan fixing kit is sold separately. I wasn't familiar with toilets so this resulted in our plumber making an extra trip to Screwfix. The toilet itself is very stylish, surprisingly spacious and easy to clean with the removable lid and rimless design. Build quality feels good. Cistern is nice and compact.

Comfort height loo

13th May 2026

This loo was ordered to assist my husband, being that little bit higher than usual. Ordering was extremely easy, delivery was quick and efficient, and the items were extremely well packed. The loo looks good and, together with the loo seat, it makes the bathroom look much better. Really pleased with it.

FAQ's

Choosing the right toilet height can make everyday use feel more comfortable. Comfort height toilets sit higher than standard toilets, which can make sitting down and standing up easier for some users. These FAQs cover the key things to know before you choose one.

What is a comfort height toilet?

A comfort height toilet is designed with a taller pan than a standard toilet. Many models have a seat height of around 460mm to 465mm from the floor, although this can vary by product. The higher position can make the toilet feel easier to use, especially if you prefer less bending when sitting down or standing up.

Who are they suitable for?

Comfort height toilets can be a helpful choice for taller adults, older users and people with reduced mobility. They may also suit anyone who finds a standard toilet too low or uncomfortable to use. For wheelchair users, the higher seat position can make transfers easier in some layouts, but it is important to check the toilet height, surrounding space and any accessibility requirements before buying.

Are comfort height toilets suitable for children?

Comfort height toilets can feel a little too tall for younger children. If their feet do not reach the floor, a small step stool can help them feel more stable and supported. This can make the toilet easier and safer for them to use day to day.

Can comfort height toilets affect posture or comfort?

Most people choose comfort height toilets because the higher sitting position feels easier and more comfortable. However, the right height depends on the user. If the toilet feels too high or your feet do not sit flat on the floor, a footstool can help create a more supported sitting position.

Do comfort height toilets meet UK accessibility regulations?

Comfort height toilets can be useful in accessible bathroom designs, including spaces designed with Document M in mind. However, the toilet alone does not make a bathroom compliant. You will also need to consider the correct height, grab rails, transfer space, clearances and overall layout. For public, commercial or accessibility-focused bathrooms, always check the latest guidance and speak to a qualified installer.

Can you fit a comfort height toilet in an existing bathroom?

In many homes, a comfort height toilet can replace a standard toilet, but it depends on the model and your existing plumbing. Close coupled and back to wall designs may be more straightforward to fit, while wall hung toilets usually need a suitable support frame. Before choosing, check the soil pipe position, available space and any frame or fixing requirements.
