Vertical Radiators

Vertical radiators are designed to make the most of your wall height, freeing up room layout options and helping smaller or busier spaces feel more open. Whether you're updating a bathroom, hallway or living area, tall radiators provide reliable warmth without taking up valuable width. To choose the right model, start by checking the BTU output needed for your room size to ensure consistent heat.

The slim, upright shape of vertical radiators allows them to slot neatly into tight wall spaces or alongside furniture, making them ideal when a traditional horizontal radiator won’t fit. Check the height, width and projection to ensure a balanced look. If you’re replacing an existing radiator, measuring pipe centres can help reduce extra installation work. Complement your vertical radiator with valves in a finish that suits your décor.

From subtle white and modern anthracite to bold black or distinctive metallics, vertical radiators can blend in or create an eye-catching feature. Choose from smooth flat panels, round tubes or traditional column styles depending on your interior look. Many ranges include matching valves and accessories, helping you create a cohesive finish throughout your home.

Keswick 1800 x 605mm Cast Iron Style Traditional 3 Column Anthracite Radiator

Look good but supplied screws inadequate

23rd January 2026

Supplied screws are simply unsafe to take the load in anything but the firmest brickwork so I replaced with much larger fixings (100mm frame fixings). The screw thread is a bit loose on the tails so took a lot of ptfe to seal.

Not sure where to start? These common questions will help you choose the right vertical radiator.

How do vertical radiators work?

Vertical radiators work just like horizontal ones. Hot water flows through the radiator, warming the surrounding air. Their tall shape means they take up less wall width, making them a practical option for narrow spaces.

Do vertical radiators give enough heat?

Yes, as long as the BTU output matches the size of your room. Use our BTU calculator to find the right heat level for your space. A slightly higher BTU can help in larger rooms or those with high ceilings.

What sizes do vertical radiators come in?

Vertical radiators are available in a range of widths and heights, from compact slimline designs to tall statement pieces. Common heights include 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm, so you can choose the right scale for your room.

Can I customise the size and style of my radiator?

Yes. Many of our vertical radiators are fully configurable. You can choose the orientation, colour and dimensions, and your BTU and price will update instantly. This makes it easier to find the right fit and heat output for your space.

Can a vertical radiator replace a horizontal one?

Yes, but pipework may need adjusting if the spacing is different. Measuring your existing pipe centres before ordering can help keep installation simpler.

Can vertical radiators be fitted horizontally?

Most are designed specifically to be installed vertically to ensure proper heat distribution. If you prefer a horizontal layout, it’s usually best to choose a dedicated horizontal radiator for efficiency.

How do I pick the right valves?

Match the valve orientation (angled or straight) to your pipework and choose a finish that complements your radiator. Many ranges include co-ordinated radiator valves for a seamless look.
