FAQ's

A black designer radiator is ideal for more modern spaces, providing a contemporary contrast with other colour choices. Our stunning collection of black radiators includes everything from small black radiators to modern black vertical radiators, all in a variety of designs, shapes and sizes. Before you choose your new black radiator, take a look at our list of frequently asked questions.

Are black radiators better than white ones?

In terms of energy efficiency, there is no real difference between black radiators and their white counterparts. While black absorbs heat and white reflects it, this doesn't affect the way a radiator works in terms of convection. Your choice between a black radiator and another painted colour ultimately comes down to the look of room you're trying to achieve.

Should I choose a heated towel rail or radiator?

Even if you're sure that black is the right colour for your room, you'll still need to consider the advantages of a black radiator against a black towel radiator. The main consideration is that a standard convector radiator will produce more heat output than a heated towel rail; if you've got a large bathroom, a radiator is probably the best pick, while a black towel rail is more suitable for a smaller space.

Should I go vertical or horizontal?

Whether you opt for a vertical or horizontal black radiator comes down to the size of your room and the kind of design aesthetic you're trying to achieve. Horizontal radiators can be more efficient and usually provide higher heat output than their vertical counterparts, although ideal heat output is dependent on the size of the room. Vertical radiators, on the other hand, offer a more modern design choice, particularly when they come in a bold colour like black.
