Over time, shower curtains can collect mould, mildew, soap scum and bacteria. Regular cleaning keeps them looking sharp and your bathroom feeling healthy.

Machine-wash PVC shower curtains on a warm, gentle cycle with detergent, a splash of baking soda and a bit of distilled vinegar; toss in a couple of towels to prevent crumpling. Fabric curtains benefit from a careful hand scrub with baking soda, targeting stains and mildew, then a thorough warm rinse. Soak rings in hot water and vinegar to remove limescale and soap scum. Finally, keep your curtain fresh by ventilating the bathroom, wiping down the bottom weekly and giving it a full clean at least once a month.
