Wall Hung Basins
Wall hung basins are a great option when space is tight. By keeping the floor clear, they help smaller bathrooms and cloakrooms feel less cramped and are easier to clean around. These wall mounted bathroom sinks also deliver a neat look without taking up extra room. Enjoy free standard UK delivery on orders over £499.
With no pedestal underneath, wall mounted basins give you more freedom with your layout. You can fit them at a height that suits you and even add storage or furniture below. Floating basins are often used in compact spaces where fitting everything in can be a challenge, and work well when installed properly on a solid wall.
Wall hung basins create a neat finish, especially when paired with wall mounted basin taps or toilets. With a wide choice of shapes, sizes and styles available, wall mounted bathroom sinks work just as well in modern spaces as they do in more traditional bathrooms.

Lovely small sink
15th September 2026Very happy with the size of this sink for our small downstairs loo. It’s the perfect size for a small space. Despite being quite small, you can still wash both hands and not be too cramped. Only thing is there’s no room for soap so we had to get a mirror with a shelf above for soap.

FAQ's
Also known as a wall mounted sink or floating sink, a wall hung basin fixes to the wall without a pedestal or vanity unit beneath it, leaving the floor below clear. These FAQs cover choosing the right size, checking the wall and fixing system, concealing the pipework and understanding what installation may involve.
Are wall hung basins good for small bathrooms and cloakrooms?
Yes. Keeping the floor visible can make a smaller bathroom, en-suite, cloakroom or downstairs toilet feel less crowded, as well as making the floor beneath the basin easier to clean.
However, not every wall mounted basin is physically compact. Check its full width and projection, then allow enough clearance from doors, toilets, shower enclosures and other fittings.
How is a wall hung basin fixed, and can my wall support it?
A wall hung basin may attach with wall bolts, dedicated brackets or a concealed support frame, depending on the model. The fixing system and wall must support the basin and the forces placed on it during normal use.
A solid masonry wall may accept suitable heavy duty fixings, while a stud wall may need structural timber or an approved supporting frame behind the finished surface. Fixings may not come with the basin, so follow the manufacturer's instructions and ask an experienced installer to assess the wall if you are unsure how it has been constructed.
How can I conceal the pipework beneath a floating basin?
Where the installation allows, the supply and waste pipes can run into the wall so that little or no pipework remains visible. Another option is to use a decorative bottle trap with neatly finished exposed pipes.
Some floating wall hung basins also work with a compatible semi pedestal or pipework cover. Check which options the manufacturer approves for your chosen basin before buying.
What height should a wall hung basin be fitted at?
There is no single height that suits every bathroom. Consider who will use the basin, its overall height and the position of the pipework. The finished height should allow the intended users to wash their hands comfortably. You should also account for mirrors, cabinets or storage above the basin.
Can I replace a pedestal basin with a wall hung basin?
You can usually replace a pedestal basin with a wall mounted bathroom sink, but the existing pipe positions and fixing points may not suit the new basin. Removing the pedestal can also expose previous fixing holes, wall marks or unfinished flooring that will need making good.
