Lovely Sink but Fixing Wasn’t Straightforward
18th January 2024Sink didn't fit flush against the wall and had to use a small backing board to fit. There are 2 small screws which fix into the plate which the sink sits on and into the sink. These do not provide much support.

FAQ's
Natural stone basins are a popular choice for bathrooms, blending durability with natural beauty. Continue reading our FAQs to find out what makes stone basins special, the benefits of using stone for bathroom sinks and essential care tips to keep them looking their best.
What are natural stone basins?
Natural stone basins are sinks made from natural stone materials, such as marble, granite, soapstone and quartz. They are known for their strength, resilience and distinctive looksc. Each basin typically showcases unique natural patterns, such as swirls and speckles, giving them a distinct look. They add a stylish, rustic look to bathrooms and come in various finishes and styles.
What are the benefits of having a stone basin?
Stone sinks are highly durable, resisting heat, scratches and dents. They’re easy to clean with just warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. Additionally, each sink has a one-of-a-kind appearance due to the natural variations in the stone.
Are stone basins prone to chipping or cracking?
While stone basins are durable and resist chipping and scratching, they can still be prone to damage under specific circumstances. Heavy impacts, such as dropping a heavy object into the basin, may cause chips or cracks. Extreme temperature changes, or "thermal shock", can also lead to cracking. Some types of stone, like limestone, are more porous and need regular sealing to stay in good shape.
Can you use bleach or acidic cleaners on a natural stone sink?
No, bleach and acidic cleaners, including those containing ammonia, hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid, should not be used on natural stone bathroom sinks. These chemicals can erode the stone's sealant, causing the surface to weaken and potentially stain. Instead, use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners to keep your sink in good condition without harming the finish.
