FAQ's

How do water saving taps work?

Many water saving taps might be fitted with a tap aerator. These devices limit the amount of water that comes through the spout when the tap is on. Through this mechanism aerators can limit the water flow without lessening the pressure that comes out of the tap.

Another water saving approach might be the use of infrared sensors so that water only comes out of the tap when your hand is directly under the spout. This limits the amount of water you waste as you don’t have to worry about turning the tap off by using a handle.

What brands are best for water saving taps?

Grohe has an extensive range of water saving technologies to help limit your water consumption. For taps and showers the EcoSmart and EcoJoy technology ranges will help lessen your water wastage without compromising your water flow.

Crosswater also has a great range of eco-friendly taps that utilise their WaterSave technology which automatically reduces the amount of water you use.

What is the mechanism behind water saving taps?

Tap aerators function by limiting the amount of water that comes through the spout in one go. They do this by mixing air into the water flow so that less water comes out at one time. This helps to reduce your water usage but without it feeling like your tap is too low in pressure.
