Bathroom wall cabinets will help you to gain some much needed additional storage space without sacrificing that all important floor space. Our range of wall mounted bathroom cabinets includes an array of different designs and finishes, suitable for both traditional and modern spaces. But what questions do you need to consider when choosing a new wall cabinet?
Can you use kitchen wall units for bathrooms?
Kitchen wall units are quite similar to bathroom cabinets, in terms of both size and materials. However, it isn't always suitable to use kitchen units in your bathroom. Bathroom wall cabinets tend not to be as deep as wall cabinets used in other rooms, and they also are also built to have specific functions that you need in a bathroom - such as integrated mirrors and even built-in lighting. Wall hung cabinets for bathrooms also come in a different range of colours than traditional kitchen units, with choices including black, white and
grey vanity units.
While repurposing existing cabinets could be a money saver, the majority of our wall hung bathroom cabinets come fully assembled and are designed to fit in with the look of your bathroom. This makes them a simple storage solution, whether you are aiming for a bathroom with rustic charm or a sleek, modernist space.
At what height should you install a bathroom wall cabinet?
There's no such thing as the perfect height to install a bathroom cabinet as it all depends on who is going to be using it and how. A mirrored cabinet, for example, needs to be installed at a height that is within eye line of anyone who will be using it. However, as a general guide, a bathroom wall cabinet is usually installed between 100cm and 180cm from the floor.
Can you attach a mirror to a bathroom wall cabinet?
As a quick DIY job, you could attach a simple mirror to an existing bathroom wall cabinet door. But mirrored bathroom cabinets are probably a better choice if you want the extra storage space with the added functionality of a mirror. These cabinets already include a mirror, with many also including built-in LED lights for illumination or with heater strips to prevent the mirror from steaming up when being used in a shower room.
