Hi, the manufacturer advises that the Wenko Prea Telescopic Corner Rack is made using rustproof stainless steel. Hope this helps.

do you need to screw this item into the ceiling?? thanks

No screwing required. The pole is telescopic and extends to fit tightly and securely in the space between the bath and the ceiling.

How do you get this item to fit a 1.71m space?

Hi Karen. This item is adjustable, so you would fit the telescopic shower rack into your shower and open it up to the required size. Once at the right size, you lock it into place. Hope this helps.
