Nova Frameless 1200 x 800mm Offset Quadrant Enclosure

Total living nightmare to install. Instructions are bloody useless!! The whole thing came close to being launched out of the window on several occasions. We have a very old house so the walls aren't perfectly plumb, there is no tolerance on the enclosure. On the plus side... once we had retilled the walls and spent a day fitting it - we used images on line to work out how! It looks absolutely fantastic. However I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it, unless installation was included hahahahaha.

The instructions are picture-only, making this unusual design hard to work out and adjust at first, particularly to hang the doors properly. Well worth the struggle, as the glass and fittings seem very good quality. After one week's use, so far the enclosure looks smart and shiny, works well, and looks set to last for many years to come. I am not sure Victorian Plumbing's web info is correct, re variable dimensions. I fitted mine at 1170x770mm, within the stated range; but since the track is curved and supported only by the glass, I think both VP and the instructions would do better to specify an optimum fitting size. I could not bolt the track snug to the glass, and I was not going to re-drill my tiles and start all over again! My guess would be that the uprights should ideally be placed at slightly smaller dimensions, to make the curved track fit better.

Having been fitting kitchens and bathrooms for over 20 years I was drawn into the design of this enclosure, hoping for a new trick of engineering but no, the two fixings on either side of the top rail are it, those heavy glass doors hang solely from that so when the doors are closed it sags with all that weight resulting in a two inch gap at the bottom, no amount of screw tightening and reverse tensioning can compensate for the sheer weight of those doors. I doubt this will ever get published but live in the hope that something may be done before too many people loose their hard earned money. Just a thought but, maybe a discreet wheel at the bottom/centre of each door, unguided but weight bearing.

Excellent product marred by very poor fitting instructions, which consisted of a (small) 8 page photocopy quality brochure with very small diagrams and absolutely no supporting written instructions. My set of instructions were also incomplete!
