On this product's page, click the "DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS" button for a PDF copy of the instructions. On page 12, you will find all of the information you need to work this out. Hello Pamela, Thermostatic showers help keep a shower's temperature stable. If another outlet (i.e. a kitchen tap) is opened during showering, a thermostatic shower will stop the temperature from fluctuating, even if the pressure drops. Manual showers will not maintain the same temperature when another outlet is in use, but generally have higher flow rates. Hope this helps! Shaun

Hi, This shower is able to give a reduced or increased flow of water depending how far you turn the flow control dial around, the more you turn it on the larger the flow rate.
