Very pleased with the sink. Made from thicker metal than most, so it doesn't bend and flex as you use the tap, and looks great.

FAQ's

Stainless steel sinks are a popular choice in busy kitchens. They’re durable, practical and available in plenty of styles and bowl sizes to suit different layouts and routines.

Below, we answer some common questions to help you decide if a stainless steel kitchen sink is right for your home.

Is it worth getting a stainless steel sink?

Stainless steel kitchen sinks have lots of benefits and are great for households with a busy kitchen. As one of the most popular styles of kitchen sink, stainless steel sinks come in an array of designs, making them one of the most dynamic kitchen sinks to choose from.

Available in single bowl, 1.5 bowl and double bowl as well as the option of a built in draining board, they have the capacity to meet the practical and aesthetic needs of any kitchen.

Because of their durability, this also makes them low maintenance, requiring not much more than a wipe down with soapy water and on occasion a clean with steel cleaner to remove those superficial scratches.

Stainless steel sinks are also heat and stain resistant and with the proper care they can last between 15 to 20 years. This makes them a convenient and cost effective choice for a kitchen sink.

Do stainless steel kitchen sinks scratch easily?

Stainless steel is an immensely hard wearing material which makes a stainless steel sink resistant to denting, chipping and cracking. Whilst this makes them tough, their surface can be prone to scratching if proper care is not taken. However, common marks from daily usage are often superficial and can be buffed away with the correct cleaning supplies.

We advise that you avoid using abrasive materials when using and cleaning your sink. So cleaning supplies like a steel wool scourer are not recommended if you want to maintain the sinks quality silver finish.

How do you stop a stainless steel sink from rusting?

Stainless steel doesn’t usually rust on its own, as it has a protective layer that keeps it looking clean and shiny. But if that layer gets damaged, rust can start to form. This can happen if you leave wet metal items in the sink, use harsh cleaners or if your water has a lot of iron or chlorine in it.

To keep rust at bay, try not to leave things like cast iron pans, steel wool or damp cloths sitting in the sink for too long. Clean it regularly using a mild cleaner and a soft cloth; no need for anything abrasive. It also helps to rinse and dry the sink after use, especially if you’ve been using salty or acidic ingredients.

For extra peace of mind, you can use a stainless steel polish now and then. It adds a light protective layer and helps the sink stay looking fresh and bright over time.
