We recently had the Metro Vertical Radiator – Matt Black, Double Panel (1600 mm × 472 mm) installed in my son’s Star Wars‑themed bedroom, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From a design standpoint, it’s perfect. The sleek matte black finish blends beautifully with the darker accents (lightsaber stands, black shelving, starfield murals), and it adds a subtle “industrial‑tech” vibe that complements the space theme. It feels more like part of the décor than just a functional radiator. Installation was surprisingly straightforward. The wall brackets were solid, the alignment was clean, and getting it level was done without stress. All the fittings lined up well, which made life easy for our installer—clearly made to good tolerances. Heat performance is excellent. The room warms up quickly and evenly, even on colder mornings, and maintains a comfortable temperature without needing to push the boiler too hard. No cold spots, just steady warmth, which is exactly what we want in a child’s room. What really finishes things off nicely are the Monza Modern Matt Black Angled Thermostatic Radiator Valves (BLK‑TRV‑ANG). These valves are high quality—solid, well‑made, with smooth operation. The matte black finish matches the radiator perfectly and adds to the cohesive look. They’re thermostatic, so we’re able to fine‑tune the temperature exactly, which helps with energy saving. The angled design also means the pipework is neat, and there’s nothing sticking out awkwardly. They feel premium, not the kind of flimsy thing you substitute just to save a few pounds.

Overall we are happy with this. However to nick pick, the sink needs to be an inch deeper. The top draw when closed pushes back by a couple of milli metres and ends up with drips of water from the shallow sink. As with the matching toilet we would have appreciated the choice to order stainless steel/chrome tap instead of brass. But great storage space and looks great.

Overall, happy with this unit. Flushes well, seat very comfortable. We opted for stainless steel flush button, which we had to order separately, might have been nice to have had it as a choice in the original order. Also button is partially covered by the raised seat making it a bit difficult to flush from a sitting position.
