Fancy taps
1st July 2026Love this to replace an old chrome tap in our downstairs loo. Much more in keeping with the decor. I originally bought a standard size but had to return it for the cloakroom size. This is perfect! My only concern is I haven’t received my refund for the tap I returned. Not even an acknowledgement that it got back to the warehouse! Hoping I’ll see my £90 again!

FAQ's
Confused about selecting the perfect basin tap? Then discover key considerations for choosing the ideal basin tap, find out if they are universal and learn about the ease of replacing bathroom sink taps. From understanding spout features to identifying the right fit for your space, we've got you covered with these frequently asked questions about basin taps.
How do I choose a basin tap?
Choosing the right basin tap involves considering various factors. For basins with one tap hole, options include mono basin mixers or single-lever taps with one spout or two handles for separate hot and cold water control. If you have two tap holes, then this typically requires pillar taps.
Consider the basin's size and depth when selecting a spout; shorter for compact spaces and longer for larger ones. Exploring luxury options like waterfall taps can add a striking visual element to your bathroom.
Are basin taps universal?
Basin taps are not universal due to their varying spout features. Taps come in different sizes and shapes, requiring specific hole sizes in basins, walls or baths for fitting. Spouts differ in height, how far they protrude over the sink and the angle of water projection. The choice of spout depends on factors like sink size, location and bathroom space.
Are bathroom sink taps easy to replace?
Replacing bathroom sink taps can be approached as a manageable DIY task, especially if you’re comfortable with basic plumbing tasks. Knowing the basics and understanding the setup, such as identifying the waste pipe connected to the plug hole, is crucial. Overall, with a bit of know-how and a few hours of dedicated time, replacing basin taps can be a relatively simple DIY task. However, we always recommend consulting a professional before undetaking any bathroom DIY.
