What are the fittings like? Does it have metal nuts? Are they likely to loosen over time as with cheap toilet seats?

Hi Dominic, thank you for your question. This seat's fittings are made up of 2 brackets each with a nut and bolt going through. We haven't had any reports of them loosening over time. This item comes with a 5 year manufacturer guarantee. I hope this helps.
