Merlyn Shower Wiper

As someone else pointed out, there is no seal on the holder (which you screw on the wall) and therefore water keeps getting in and rusts the fixings. Ours has just fallen off the wall, leaving a massive rusty metal plate on the white tiles!

A good compliment to our new Merlyn shower enclosure.

Its a nice looking squeegee and it does what it says on the box. Unfortunately it does extra stuff that isn't wanted! The rubber squeegee is about 1mm shorter at each end than the stainless steel support and handle. When you wipe down the edge of the glass that stainless steel scratches the frame edges of your brand new shower! Apart from the damage, it sounds horrible when it happens. Half a centimetre extra would have meant it was the rubber that wiped the shower frame, not stainless steel, and scratches would have been avoided. For a wiper this expensive I would not have expected Merlyn to have scrimped on the length of rubber!

This is heavy, metal and chrome, the Rolls Royce of squeegees. But the bracket, which is designed to be screwed to the wall, does not make provision for a waterproof seal, around its body and so cannot be safely screwed to the wall without risk of creating a water path through the membrane.
