Does this product contain a mechanism for preventing sewer smells coming back up the pipe and into the shower cubicle?

Hi, there is nothing to stop the smells coming through, but to stop this the waste is usually mounted slightly higher than the soil pipe. The waste holds a small amount of water in-between use which also helps prevent smells from coming through. Thanks, hope this helps!
