I did use these, difficult to get a fixing with these if you've trenched wall out, in the end I removed these as didn't need due to distances.

These allow quick and easy replacement/installation of any shower mixer when installed. I have found typically if pipes are cemented/tiled into the wall (very common) makes accessing or changing them a 'bigger job' so if the mixer has an issue/fails (which is more common) ... it makes the switch to a new one much much easier!!
