Issues with the toilet casting, and some odd design features
When our plumber connected the cistern to the pan and test flushed for the first time, water started coming out the side mounting holes at the base of the pan. We lifted the pan to check underneath and around the U-bend for any visible cracks or damage - it was perfectly dry. There are no visible cracks or marks anywhere on the pan. The toilet bowl holds water without leaking, however when the cistern is connected and the flush is used the leak occurs. What we have worked out is that water is running down the walls of the toilet pan INSIDE the casting. Obviously the issue is not visible to the naked eye. This is something to be aware of when purchasing this bathroom suite. All other components have been fine. In addition, consider hiring some little plumbing elves with LONG fingers to connect the sink tap once it's mounted on the wall - the fittings are recessed in an awkward position.
