Bemis - Model 5000CP Toilet Seat with Chrome Hinges - White

Having had Bemis for 13 years (old toilet seat in the house, and purchased for second toilet previously), I have loved that the seats remain in place, which Bemis is known for and promotes. Therefore, I am very disappointed as I’ve had to tighten the fixings to the toilet 2 or 3 times since installed only 4 weeks ago! This toilet has the chrome plated fixings with plastic bolt, the quality of these not on par with previous old seat’s. The second previous seat I had was fully plastic, and is still much more secure and stays in place, than this.

On the face of it, the toilet seat is comfortable and appears to be of high quality. However, within a couple of months after fitting, the lower part of the seat snapped across one side when sat on by a guest. The white finish was also very quickly badly stained by urine and foul water splashes. The instruction leaflet refers to cleaning with soapy water, but it is not realistic to expect each user to wipe down the seat after every use.

The white seat and chrome hinges look really good. This is a nice quality product, with no rough edges or blemishes. The seat is nicely shaped, making it very comfortable. We are very pleased with this purchase.
