The colours that are set to be big next year.

As 2015 is drawing to a close, it is time to start making way for 2016’s emerging trends. Colour experts have been announcing their nominated shades that are set to be seen throughout next year. We’ve rounded up the colours that the experts have said are set to be big in 2016.

Earlier in autumn, Dulux® named their colour of 2016 as ‘cherished gold’. The metallic shade has seen a steady increase in popularity throughout 2015 in home interiors. Gold has long been associated with luxury and sophistication, but be careful not to add too much gold into your design as it can become garish when overdone.

Our suggestion is to subtly add gold into your décor through features such as gold taps, mirror frames, baskets and caddies combined with white surroundings to create a timeless look.   If you wish to make a statement, why not opt for a pendant chandelier or a copper freestanding bath?

Worldwide colour specialist Pantone® has named Rose Quartz and Serenity as their colours of 2016 due to the calming and soothing psychological effects both colours have. These hushed shades of pink and blue are ideal for creating a tranquil setting in your bathroom. Both colours complement each other perfectly. You may wish to add accents of these colours through bathroom accessories or through wall decoration such as paint or wallpaper.

White and grey will still continue to be big next year. These neutral colours are timeless classics. Both provide you with the perfect canvas if you would like to incorporate any other interior design trends or bold colours into your bathroom.

Hope you've found our colour trend watch helpful.
