Looks good but less powerfull

Bought this to replace a 20+ year old shower head. Easy to install and looks great but the power doesn’t seem as good as the old one. I think the plastic jets reduce flow!

Hi, I would like to know if I can clean it from scale without removing the hole head or only unscrew the center part?
