Will this accommodate 42mm waste pipe (solvent weld pipe)

Hello, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately not. This item would accept a 40mm waste pipe. This is a compression joint fixture. So if you wanted to move to solvent weld this would have to be done further down the line - alternatively, a different trap could be used. Kind Regards.

what size waste pipe do I need to connect. are both ends 1 1/5 inch

Hi, the Shallow Bath Trap is designed for 11/2" which is 38mm so it may just be too small. Hope this helps.
