Opera Freestanding Toilet Roll Holder

I was fooled by the photo, which appears to show a strong, durable, chrome-plated metal spring-loaded spindle to hold the toilet roll, as opposed to the brittle plastic ones used by other manufacturers that soon crack and break. This spindle is plastic too, but with a cunning chrome-like finish. And why the downward-angled support bracket, which reduces the effective height at which the roll is held? I thought maybe it was reversible to point upward, but it's not, and the shaft is already shorter than other makes, so it's another minus point. I paid £55.89 (including delivery) for an item that is worth £20 at most and which would cost a fraction of that to manufacture. Not the quality item it appears to be.
