This is not the case, it does not come with the additional fixing nut.

can you use a plug and chain for the Burlington Edwardian Large Basin rather than a click-clack slotted push button basin waste please?

Unfortunately you cannot fit a plug & chain assembly as there there is no fixing point within the ceramic washbasin.
