Join Victorian Plumbing’s support for the ‘No Butts’ campaign to raise awareness and remove the stigma surrounding bowel cancer!

#NoButts Campaign

Increasing awareness about bowel cancer and its symptoms is a crucial step towards early diagnosis and, hopefully, prevention. Our support for ITV Lorraine’s ‘No Butts’ Campaign is continuing for the fourth year in a row, as we acknowledge the importance of generating bowel cancer awareness.

On average, almost 120 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer every day. That’s around 43,000 people every year, in the UK alone. While the majority of people diagnosed are over the age of 50, bowel cancer can affect anyone, regardless of age.

Spotting symptoms of bowel cancer early enough could significantly reduce the chances of it becoming fatal. Some symptoms to look out for are:

  • Blood in your poo (even if there is only a tiny amount)
  • Significant changes to your pooing habits (going to the toilet a lot less or a lot more than usual)
  • Persistent constipation or diarrhoea
  • A lump or pain in your stomach
  • Fatigue
  • Significant, unintentional weight loss
#NoButts Campaign

Being mindful of these symptoms is not only about avoiding discomfort, but it could be life-saving.

This year on ITV, Lorraine will be continuing her ‘No Butts’ campaign in the hopes to bring light to the seriousness of bowel cancer. Running through April, Lorraine will be discussing bowel cancer with various guests to remove stool stigma and continue to share survivors’ stories.

The late Dame Deborah James, who initiated and led the campaign along with Lorraine, has left a legacy that continues to reach and inspire millions across the country. Over £12.6 million has been raised for the Bowelbabe Fund, which has helped develop cutting-edge bowel cancer research. Dame Deborah, sadly passing 2 years ago, has left an unbreakable legacy that Victorian Plumbing feels honoured to continue to support.

If you’d like to show your support, use the hashtag #NoButts or tune into important, informative discussions with Lorraine and ITV, throughout April. Alternatively, for more information about the cause, head to https://www.itv.com/lorraine/articles/no-butts

Remember, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Not feeling peachy downstairs? Check it out, No Butts!
